Michael E. Dorcas’ colored-pencil drawing Santa Ana Flame was selected for the 32nd Annual International Exhibition on Animals in Art at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The 2026 exhibition includes 60 works selected from 293 entries and will be held October 10–November 6, 2026.

Portrait Society of Atlanta | Fall 2026 Open Juried Exhibition

Selected August 26, 2026 | Open Juried Portrait Exhibition

Michael E. Dorcas’ graphite drawing Plains Elder was selected for the Portrait Society of Atlanta Fall 2026 Open Juried Exhibition. The exhibition, juried by Dawn Whitelaw, will be held October 3–December 5, 2026, at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville, Georgia. Plains Elder was also selected earlier this year for the Greeley Stampede Western Art Exhibition.

Explorers Against Extinction | Sketch for Survival

Longlisted July 9, 2026 | International Conservation Art Competition

Michael E. Dorcas’ colored-pencil drawing Stealth was selected for the 2026 Sketch for Survival longlist, organized by Explorers Against Extinction. The international longlist includes 200 artworks by artists representing more than 35 nationalities. The original artwork will now be reviewed in person for possible selection to the final Sketch for Survival 100.
